The background for the current series of images WASTE AGE is the omnipresent toxic cycle of product production and consumption in throwaway mode. Through a simultaneity of aesthetics and anesthetics, idyll and catastrophe, the tension between environment and civilization - with a view to the plundering of the world in nature and culture - becomes visible through their contrasting patterns
The optically hyper-realistic effect of the nature-like and technical-looking patterns of the pictures are created in purely painterly processes, without photographic or other technical means of reproduction
